United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has honored anti-landmine campaigner Purna Shobha Chitrakar with 'UN Peace Award, 2011'.
Chitrakar, the coordinator of 'Ban Landmine Campaign', had received highest number of votes among the contestants from 40 countries across the world.

House set ablaze by unidentified group while family members still inside
An unidentified group set fire to a house at Jhula VDC of Rukum district around 4 am this morning by padlocking the main gate even as the family members were inside.
The group set fire at the house of Bhim Bahadur Pariyar of Jhula VDC-1 while all eight members of the family were sleeping, RSS reported.
According to victim Bhim Bahadur, his family members could only come out of the house after their neighbors broke the main door.
Property worth around Rs. 400,000 including Rs. 80,000 in cash was destroyed in the fire. Bhim Bahadur had brought the cash as his earning from India only 10 days ago.
According to the Area Police Office, Bafikot, all clothes, utensils and crops have been destroyed in the fire. nepalnews.com
